Made to be remembered:

tUDOR sTYLE HOUSE

tHE sTORY:

Dominic is a local contractor whom I have worked with for years.  He bought some acreage in the northern part of Greenville County to build his home and have a small farm.  I remember he first showed me a plan out of a book and from the get go, I started trying to plant the seed for having a house designed from scratch…which would include a larger design fee.  He acquiesced and has told me since that he and Jennifer were so glad they did.  Jennifer often said to me, “I love my house” which has always made me feel good.

I took them through the questionnaire where it was settled that they wanted a Tudor style home.  I remember really working hard on the exterior proportions and interior site lines where you would have multiple long views to focal points.  I really liked how the flow around the pool, Kitchen, eating, Screened Porch and Great Room lends itself to such comfortable indoor, outdoor living.  And to top it off, the interior site lines worked out just like I had hoped.  One of the great features is a great pair of old doors they salvaged and utilized.  Jennifer is such a great decorator; I have often thought she could do this for a living.

Dominic was so game for some of the interesting details, it made the final outcome that much better.  Even the large oak trees that had to be taken down were cut into beams and columns and used in the house.  I’m proud of this one.
