Anniversary Lamp
I would love to make more of these. This was a gift for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. They have a cabin on a lake, which is called Heron House. The sisters bought the materials and I designed and made the lamp. The stained glass images in the copper lampshade frame are from drawings I made, inspired by an old magazine cover and items at the cabin. LEB Glass took my drawings and recreated them onto the glass and re-fired them so they would be permanent. The main lamps and the stained glass in the body of the lamp are switched separately so it can serve as a night-light. I have 5 or so copper lampshade frames already made, so one day I can make some of these lamps for myself. I have forgotten how many jigs I had to make to build these lamps; I think it was in the teens. Friend Bob called me “Jiggy” for a little while. I never had some much fun in my life as when building these.
